Representatives from the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Albany State University, and the Department of Computer Science at Tuskegee University created an IA-Alliance in January of 2007. The mission of this working group is to share Information Assurance curriculum, resources, and experiences in order to align each institution's IA program in a similar fashion.
Auburn University is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance certified by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a result, the Information Assurance Center at Auburn is eligible to partner with government agencies to work on information assurance projects. Currently, the IAC is working with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on various initiatives.
As a result of government contracting and procurement, the IAC works with many industry partners on various projects relating to information assurance. Specifically, the IAC has worked on projects with industry concerning network simulation, network modeling, software anti-tampering techniques, and software vulnerabilities. The IAC at Auburn welcomes industry partnerships and collaboration.
